    Kind of Blue is, arguably, the most influential jazz album of all time. Bill Evans’ understated piano and Miles’ creative interpretations are what got me back into jazz after about a 25-year hiatus. I now have a huge collection of jazz including tons of Bills Evans and most of the Miles Davis stuff when he was doing “cool jazz.” I couldn’t follow him into fusion and his later stuff doesn’t do a whole lot for me. But “Kind of Blue” will always bring people into jazz who might otherwise avoid it. Some, however, will never “get it.” Pity them.
