Here’s a photo of Mat, Melissa, me, and Steph from a Halloween years ago.
another halloween memory
wisdom teeth, drugs and jott
Yesterday I had my last wisdom tooth taken out. I had the oral surgeon put me totally under because I didn’t want to remember anything. (For those of you who don’t know this was my second time having my wisdom teeth out. Last time they took out three and this was the last one.) It took a while for the sedation drugs to wear off and by the end of yesterday I was feeling better but still quite numb.
This morning I woke up and I had 5 Jott’s in my inbox. 4 to myself and 1 to Mat. I have no memory of sending these voice messages.
Apparently after the procedure was done Ash drove us to Whole Foods to get some arnica cream. While I was waiting for her in the car I took out my cell phone and started Jott’ing myself and also Mat and told him that I had just had my wisdom tooth out (Listen here).
For your listening pleasure, here are more examples of me coming out of sedation:
“I just got my wisdom tooth taken out”. Listen.
Mumbling. Listen.
Something about Amazon and movies. I’m not really sure. Listen.
Talking about the drugs wearing off (yeah, right). Listen.
half-marathon
I think I am going to run the half-marathon.
I’ve never actually been able to commit to running for long periods of time. So I am going to commit to running for a short-period of time. I have a 3 month schedule (pdf, ical) that should get me ready for a half-marathon at the end of March. I’ve even done research on 5k and 10k races that I think I am going to try.
Will I stick too it? I don’t know. But here are some of the benefits for my own motivation:
* Increased energy
* Better sleep
* Reduces risk of heart-disease
* Lowers cholesterol
* It’s Free
* Weight-Loss
Mat has a great article on New-Years Resolutions that I’d recommend. I, like Mat (, like everyone) make resolutions and never keep them. So this year I’ve picked three small, reasonable goals:
1) More exercise
2) More vegetables
3) No corn-syrup.
